SURPRISE, Ariz. - The last rankings before conference tournaments were released today by the NCWA. OUAZ looked strong as most of their wrestlers got recognized for their impressive seasons. Freshman Rachel Moore received a second place ranking while fellow freshman Sara Gaytan and Ferralin Alegria also made the top five in their respective weight classes. Meanwhile, Cheyenne Williams received a third place ranking for her incredible season consisting of 7 wins and 7 pins. The team as a whole grabbed a sixth place rank behind some high-caliber opponents, such as, Liberty, Pacific Lutheran, and Schreiner. This is very exciting and promising for the young team who are only returning one wrestler with experience of NCWA post-season play. The team will head to Las Vegas, NV, this weekend to compete in the conference championship. They look to gain bids into the National Tournament in Allen, TX, next month.
